IPR part 1

Hi everyone, Terese here. I am part of the Software division, and the one in charge of this blog as well as our facebook page. What I am trying to say is: I am the one to take the blame if anything is wrong here. :P

Next week is time for the first out of two Integration Progress Reviews (IPR) for BESPIN. This is not usually the case, but as the REXUS/BEXUS programme considers BESPIN to be a complicated experiment, they arranged a second IPR that are scheduled for next week for us to make sure we are on track with everything. The ordinary IPRs for REXUS teams take place in August and September. So, hopefully we will make them happy with us this upcoming week! :)

(To remind you of how the schedule for the REXUS programme looks, I borrowed this picture from the rexusbexus webpage. We are part of the REXUS 25/26 group.)

However, as it is summer, we folks staying in Kiruna have enjoyed 50 days of midnight sun! Yes, that is right, 50 days of constant sunlight! That also means no way of seeing the northern lights. This period is (sadly) over, and we are again moving towards darker times.

Another perk of staying in Kiruna over the summer is the accessibility to the northern nature. It is for example only a 3,5 h drive to get to the most north part of Sweden - the Three-Contry Cairn. Or a 1 h drive to get to Nikkaluokta, from where you can hike to Sweden's highest mountain. Or go to Abisko. Or Norway. So many options. Anyways, this is the Three-Contry Cairn, with the perspective from Finland and the big Norwegian mountains in the background.

Alright, enough tourist talk. That's it from me!
