Preparations for Integration Week

Hi everyone!

Last week was spent to prepare the electrical and software side of our experiment for the Integration Week which is held this week in Bremen, Germany. The most critical point last week, that basically left most of us sweating, was the deliverence of the MCU board. The MCU (Main Controller Unit) is the PCB that all signals go through before reaching our Arduino Due. Without that board we cannot control our sensors, save data to memory cards, receive signals from the REXUS rocket, activate our pyrotechnical devices, and much more. So, when we had ordered a new version of the board the last minute from China, it was a bit nervewracking to see if it would be delivered in time for the Integration Week. Aaaaaaand, it was! Late last week it came to us, and to our joy, it actually worked! Oh happy day.

So now, we actually have an all together functioning system for the first time. Although, there are still some modifications that need to be attended to so, no rest for the wicked!

This week we can only send our strength to our teammates in Bremen and hope that everything goes smooth so we can get a pass and continue to work towards the Bench test in Germany in January.

So stay tuned if you are interested to hear our verdict or just some updates from the Integration Week!
